The ‘How Glasgow Flourished’ app charts the rise of Glasgow through the 1700s right up until the start of Queen Victoria’s reign with over 150 images and objects from Glasgow Museums’ collections.
Explore locations on archive maps of Glasgow from 1778 and 1821 to reveal views of objects along with building, street and city views of Georgian Glasgow. Discover places and streets that no longer exist, and see familiar streets and buildings afresh.
As featured in Kelvingrove Museum’s ‘How Glasgow Flourished’ exhibition, this app has been further developed for use at home or when in Glasgow city-centre using GPS.
